Technical SEO

Technical SEO services: speed, crawling, schema, migrations and tracking.

If Google and AI crawlers cannot fetch, render and understand a page, no amount of content or links will rank it. Our technical SEO specialists find what is broken, fix it in code, and prove the fix in your own Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.

The short answer

Shown's technical SEO services find and fix what stops search engines and AI crawlers from crawling, rendering, indexing and trusting a website: site speed and Core Web Vitals, crawl errors and index coverage, redirects and canonical tags, structured data, JavaScript rendering, site migrations, and analytics tracking with GA4 and Google Tag Manager. Technical SEO is the foundation of every Shown plan, from a once-off build of R14,950; stand-alone technical audits and migrations are quoted per project after the free audit.

What our technical SEO covers

The parts of a website nobody sees until they break, on WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow and custom builds.

Crawling and indexing

Status codes, redirect chains, canonical tags, sitemaps, robots rules and Search Console's page indexing report, until every page that should rank is indexed and nothing else is.

Speed and Core Web Vitals

Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift, measured on real-user data and fixed at the source: images, fonts, scripts, hosting and caching.

Structured data

Schema for your organisation, services, locations, products and articles, valid and matching what is actually on the page.

JavaScript and rendering

We check what Googlebot renders and what AI crawlers receive without JavaScript, and move what matters into server-rendered HTML.

Migrations and redesigns

A redirect for every old URL, crawls before and after launch, and Search Console checks, so rankings survive a new site, platform or domain.

Analytics and tracking

Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools set up properly, with calls, forms, WhatsApp clicks and sales tracked as conversions.

The technical SEO audit, check by check

What a full audit covers, and how each part is tested. You get every issue ranked by impact, with the fix.

Our own site is the test.

An agency that sells technical SEO should pass its own audit. These are this site's own numbers, measured on 28 September 2026. No layout shift comes from size-matched fallback fonts, and every page is plain server-rendered HTML that AI crawlers read without running JavaScript.

Questions buyers ask us

What is technical SEO?

Technical SEO is the work that lets search engines and AI crawlers find, render, index and understand a website: crawling, indexing, speed, mobile usability, structured data, redirects and security. It does not win rankings on its own, but problems here stop content and links from working.

What does a technical SEO audit include?

A full crawl of the site, Search Console's indexing and Core Web Vitals reports, rendering checks, structured data validation, AI crawler access and your analytics setup. You get every issue ranked by impact, with the fix for each.

How much does a technical SEO audit cost?

The first look is free: send us your site and we reply with the biggest issues. A full technical audit or a migration is quoted per project after that, and technical SEO is included in every monthly plan.

Do Core Web Vitals affect Google rankings?

They are part of the page experience signals Google's ranking systems use, but relevance comes first: a fast page that does not answer the search will not outrank a slower one that does. Speed also affects how many visitors enquire, so we fix it for both reasons.

Can you move our website without losing rankings?

Yes, when the move is planned: every old URL redirected (301) to its new home, the new site crawled before launch, and Search Console checked after. Some movement in the first weeks is normal; lasting drops usually come from missed redirects, which is what the plan prevents.

Do you set up Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager?

Yes. We set up GA4 and Tag Manager, track calls, forms, WhatsApp clicks and sales as conversions, connect Search Console, and import conversions into Google Ads, so your ads and your SEO are measured the same way.
